JLG Telehandlers Alabama

After spending numerous years working with his brother to be able to establish their crane construction corporation into a leader of the business, John L. Grove chose to stop working. John and his wife Cora celebrated their retirement by setting out on a cross-country journey using their R.V. After that journey, JLG Industries, Inc. emerged and became the world's leading manufacturer of mobile aerial work platforms and specialized material handling machines.

John spent a lot of the time in the R.V. trip talking to prior business associates who the Groves were visiting on their trip. Tragically, while they visited the Hoover Dam, 2 workers were accidentally electrocuted on scaffolding. During subsequent conversations, John discovered a big untapped market for a type of equipment that could quickly and safely raise people into the air in order to perform maintenance and construction functions.

After John and his wife returned from the trip, John decided to take action. He and two close friends started a business and after that bought a small metal fabrication company within McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. During the year 1970, with an initial crew of 20 workers, the trio built and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. Many parts of the basic design elements of that very first machine are still being incorporated into the existing product
