During 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. During that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed customers and hence, the name was established.
Genie has moved into many new markets, since the need for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, when the demand for new machinery to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. For example, Genie went into manufacturing light towers, man-lifts, articulated booms, telehandlers and stick booms.
Genie decided to acquire a partner who held the same values because of the economic slump in the start of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers across the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in taking advice from and listening to their customers. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing outstanding support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
The DC and Bi-Energy machinery provided by Genie offers quiet operation, emission-free even in the most delicate work environments. Where the machinery has to be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machinery with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms offer more horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the different aerial platforms. These machinery are great for small areas or limited access areas in all types of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These machines deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
