The Carriage
The carriage is like a conventional lift truck as the lifting attachment could be tilted backwards and forwards from its horizontal. The tilt that is possible on this machine exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There is a large variety of available lifting attachments, and this positioning ability makes them as efficient as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Several units have rotating carriages also. This allows the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted forwards and backwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Knowing the load capacity of a telehandler is a a lot different exercise than it is on a vertical mast unit. The capacity of the model is entirely dependent on such things like: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires. Also, which lifting attachment plays a really important part, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on etc. All of these specifics could be changing regularly and this gives the operator a lot more information to take into consideration.
Telehandlers would usually have several different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could use to know a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the model in particular and the boom's configuration, the load capacity can vary by thousands of pounds all together.
