Types of Aisles
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to work in. These equipments could turn in an aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn in the aisle. There are some aisle widths to take into account with various units.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks operate in less than 6 feet areas and usually utilize particular guidance systems such as wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel in the aisles. Some different models of VNA trucks include Swing Masts, Order Selectors and Turret Trucks. These are popular models in tight retail areas and in several storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks could work in aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Generally these are stand-up units such as Reach Trucks. They are commonly used in storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard that is made to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is large and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat together with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and therefore more effective while limiting fatigue.
