Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk alongside the machinery as they pick up and transport loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the best answer if you are looking for an inexpensive method for transporting loads from one place to another. If though, you must move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best alternative.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece machinery made specifically for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which could work in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely useful pieces of equipment in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
