Solid Lift Truck Tire Safety
More than 200 deaths per year within North America are a result of forklifts, or lift trucks. Proper inspection and maintenance of forklift tires could truly help to reduce the risk of accidents.

Pre-Work Check
Prior to the beginning of every shift, the tires on the lift truck must be inspected for signs of wear and damage. The air pressure inside the tires needs to be checked to ensure the pressure is not too low. Having a tire pressure that is low could make the machine prone to tip-overs when lifting loads.

Types of Tires
The choice of tire type should be based on the kind of surface wherein the lift truck would be utilized. For indoor use, lift trucks with solid rubber tires are recommended. For smoother surfaces, tires tend to be smaller. Bigger pneumatic tires are best for lift trucks being utilized outdoors. Pneumatic tires could grip well on surfaces which are rough since they are air-filled and have a rubber tread.

Other Considerations
Any lift truck utilized on a continual basis should be inspected at the end of each shift, according to Occupational Health and Safety Administration guidelines. The tires must be checked once more for any indication of damage, such as cuts or wear.

Forklift Safety
If you or your workers will be utilizing forklifts, correct training in forklift safety is important. Forklift mishaps can cause serious personal injuries or death and result in unmanageable financial difficulty. Even minor mishaps could cost you and your business money if the merchandise or the forklift are damaged in a mishap. Be certain you truly know a lot about forklift safety problems.
